I work in private practice within the Natural Health Clinic as well as with a range of agencies specialising in general counselling, bereavement, grief and loss, anxiety and depression, stress, eating disorders, bullying and work related issues. I support people aged 16years plus.
I work on the premise there are two ways to heal, one by the word and one by the touch. Counselling is a talking therapy. By talking issues through in a safe, confidential environment, a person can make sense of what is going on in their life and reach attainable resolutions. In the 21st century with the increasing breakdown of the nuclear family, it is extremely helpful and therefore, therapeutic, to talk things through, in confidence, with an unbiased person (the counsellor) working together to faciliate change.
I offer both brief and longer term therapy dependant on the client's needs, working in a person centred way, drawing on different counselling perspectives dependent on the client's needs.
