Susan Mathews Counsellor and Family Therapist

I am a Systemic and Family Psychotherapist with a humanistic counselling background. I work with individuals, couples and family groups offering a confidential and safe environment to explore ideas and new possibilities.  My professional experience has been with child and adolescent mental health, social adoption and fostering teams, Cruse bereavement counselling as well as well as private practice.

Therapy offers the space to talk and reflect on the situation, promotes self and relationship awareness, increases understanding and helps look at options for change.  Thinking of ways to move forward may involve issues from the past as well as present.  Therapy will help to find ways through challenging situations and difficult transitions in life.  These may be causing grief and loss, depression, anxiety, anger, family conflict, troubles that can interfere with emotional well-being. I like to focus on strengths and abilities and work towards creating more positive and effective ways of thinking feeling and communicating. I can offer long or short term work.

My qualifications are:

Post Grad. Diploma Systemic Psychotherapy
Counselling Diploma
Post Grad. Art Teacher Cert.
BA Hons. Fine Art
UKCP registered, AFT and BACP member
